More Horse Trivia
In personal appearances Gene Autry rode a horse named "Lindy". In the movies Tom Mix rode a horse named "Tony, Jr". What did those two horses have in common? Smiley

I remember when Lindy was foaled, in 1927, on the day when Lindbergh flew across the Atlantic. That's why they called the horse Lindy--for a while.

Hi OldTimer: You are on the right track but what about Tony, Jr.? Smiley
OldTimer (1/3/03 9:24 am)
Well, as I recollect, Lindy doubled for Tom Mix's Tony, Jr. Then they sold him to some young whippersnapper who changed his name to Champion. Don't know how he took to handlin' the new moniker.

You are exactly correct. Lindy and Tony, Jr. are one in the same horse. Smiley
