A Comic Book Quiz
At the dawn of the comic book's golden age, secondary features were sometimes serials. DC had one that combined a Douglas Fairbanks character and an Errol Flynn physical likeness. What was that continuing feature?

I remember a Zorro comic from my youth, don't ask, just know that I get Social Security. I know Fairbanks played both Zorro and his son in different movies and the comic did have a resemblance to Flynn as I recall.

You could make a case for the comic book Zorro, or his imitators, To Be Continued. But I was thinking more of the serial format and the early golden age. There was a major silent adventure film starring Fairbanks that came a dozen years before the golden age began. It even used an early form of color. Does this information help,? If you remember the first appearance of Superman, TBC, it might. I hope you will give it another try.

My guess would be Shelly Moldoff's strip for DC Comics in Action Comics.........The Black Pirate: Jon Valor. It debuted in 1940 which would certainly put it in the Golden Age of comics.

That's the strip I had in mind, Tom. It occupied only a few pages, but they were well drawn, swipes notwithstanding. Note to ToBeContinued: Do you remember this one? It might have been just before your time.

I fear 1940 was a bit early in my childhood. I do not recall the black Pirate at all. Oh well, ask more questions 1945 on I was reading comics.
