The first names that come to mind are Jock Mahony, Rod Cameron, Smiley Burnett, Robert Mitchem, Clint Eastwood, Gene Barry, Jack Lord,Robert Conrad, and James Garner. I am working on the assumsion that the their first big success constitues the true begining of their career.
