First Series Color Western
Who was the first series western star to appear in a color western movie? Smiley

Would that be Bob Livingston in "Bold Caballero"?

jadm: I had another fellow answer Bob Livingston. The way the Old Corral worded it was "the first western SERIES". I think and I'm not positive that Livingston's picture was not part of a series. This apparently is a confusing question so I will just give the answer that The Old Corral had and it was Eddie Dean. The first western star to make a color movie in a SERIES. Smiley

Hi Smiley:
"The Bold Caballero" as you suspected with Robert Livingston was not part of a series. It was Republic's 1st experience with a color film process. The film is directed by Wells Root. He also wrote the original screenplay. Nat Levine was the producer.
I have this film on vhs from Republic Home Video in cardboard slip cover. Product Number is: VHS 4914. Approximate Running Time is 69 minutes. Digitally Remastered From The Original Color Film. This is the only time that Robert Livingston played the Zorro character.
You just may get lucky and find this little gem in a bargain bin in a video or a dept. store. That's how I've found some video gems in the past.
Kindest Regards:
Ron McKnight.
