All,
What music or recording artists from England, Scotland, Ireland, or Wales do you like? Bagpipe music? The Irish Tenors? Any particular pieces of music?
My father's mother was from Keswick (Cumberland) England which is up in the Lake Country region. I've never been there but am familiar with some of the music.
Enya's songs are indeed beautiful and a pleasure to listen to. Charlotte Church of Wales is a beautiful and very talented young lady and her voise is quite outstanding. I sincerely hope she does not burn out early. There are many Welsh singers of great talent, but relatively unknown outside Wales. The Irish have given us several musicians of note. The English gave us The Beetles and Sir Elton John.

Thanks so much for your reply. I'll have to look more into Enya's music. My father and I both very much like Charlotte Church. There's another young lady, a Canadian, who reminds me very much of Charlotte. I believe she's 10 or 12 or so. She has a lot of promise. I can't quite remember her name but she has a very nice recording of "What a Wonderful World".
vocraz, I know a wonderful young Celtic artist who lives in Portland. She plays in all the spots there; she sings, plays the harp and at least one other musical instrument. She's quite talented and has released a couple of CDs. Let me know if you're interested in more information.
Yes, I enjoy the love songs of the Beatles and I've always thought Elton John had a great voice.

vocraz,
The Canadian young lady's name is Aselin Debison. She is 12 years old and in addition to "It's a Wonderful World" she does a lot of songs considered to be in the Celtic genre.
