FOX has officially announced renewals for both 24 and JOE MILLIONAIRE, while ABC has picked up ALIAS, THE BACHELOR, AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS, 8 SIMPLE RULES FOR DATING MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER, ACCORDING TO JIM, LIFE WITH BONNIE, LESS THAN PERFECT, MY WIFE AND KIDS, and GEORGE LOPEZ for next season as well.

KanSmiley Registered User (3/11/03 2:00 pm)Vokraz: Point well taken. The show that is on now that just absolutely blows me away is "Married by America". I guess after dating the same girl for five years and being married to her for forty years I have forgotten what a date is but really. The critics said the Joe Millionaire couple wouldn't last but at least they apparently are not going to get married. In my wildest dreams I cannot imagine marrying a woman I had never met let alone seen. Now I hear that they are going to spend five weeks together "in a secluded location" to get to know each other. ABC has also renewed NYPD Blue for it's 11th Season. I don't know about you but the last 2 seasons plus the current one has been the best NYPD has been since the first couple of seasons. I think it has do to with chemistry and boy do they have now. I always like Kim Delaney, but when they added Charlotte Ross, Esai Morales, and Jacqueline Obradors, the show just kicked itself up a notch. One of Barcroft's favorites.

Poor Kim Delaney... she left NYPD Blue to star in her own series and that pooped out, then she joined the new CSI Miami Show with her old costar David Caruso and evidently there was some sort of friction there and she was written out by "mutual consent." Now NYPD is taking her back......why? The cast seems pretty firmed up and working well together, where will she fit in? Maybe she is only coming back for some guest appearances? Who knows...film at eleven.

I hadn't heard Kim Delaney was coming back. I don't think she'd fit in now.

This sketchy news was reported yesterday in the Hlywd trade papers. I agree that she would sort of be out of place now in the tight ensemble they have going this season. If I learn more, I will post it.

But speaking of cliffhangers; two very modern cliffhangers I am thoroughly enjoying are: ALIAS, and 24! Both of these shows frequently end their eps in cliffhanger style situations. I have followed 24! since it's first year, and this year, in spite of some who believed they couldn't pull it off twice, they (producers) have exceeded everyone's expectations. The show is absolutely riveting. So is ALIAS; you never what will happen next on ALIAS, and Jennifer (YUM! YUM!) Garner keeps the pace moving at a frenetic pace. Thrills and chills like these 2 shows produce haven't been seen since the serial days in the darkened theatre. ALIAS is also the ONLY James Bond imitator I've seen played straight. Veteran actor Ron Rifkin, as Arvin Sloane, is as outstanding a villain as any of us serial villains could ever hope to be. And wait until you experience the 'FACE MAKING' machine. LOL. If you haven't seen either of these 2 shows, you're truly missing solid action and suspense and thrills all the way through.
