I've always felt that Harry Worth (ADVENTURES OF RED RYDER, ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL) was one of the most underrated serial villains. He was so good at being slimy and hypocritical; I understand he also made several B-westerns. What I'm wondering about is whether any NL members have any biographical info on him? He seems to be a sort of mystery man--not even the Old Corral has any details on him. Does anyone know anything about this great bad guy?Harry Worth (2/7/03 2:05 pm)
See my page at http://www.surfnetinc.com/chuck/villan42.htm
KanSmiley (2/7/03 2:47 pm)This is an interesting mystery. The Old Corral site says that Worth worked in TV until as late as 1963 in HAZEL and DENNIS THE MENACE. Then ends the page by saying "whatever happened to Harry Worth." In checking the IMDB it indicates that Harry Worth died in 1950. Incidentally Worth was in the 1936 production of THE BIG SHOW with Gene and me. SmileyJerry Blake Operator 99 (2/8/03 6:15 am)
Thanks for the additional info, Harry and Smiley. I've seen several episodes of Dennis the Menace and watched for Worth to show up, but I've never spotted him. Can anyone name the episode he appears in? Tommy Cook, who was with Worth in RED RYDER, is still alive. Maybe he can help shed some light on this great "mystery" villain.
