Gladstone was the publisher of Disney comics in the United States from 1986-1990 and is considered by many to be the finest publisher to handle the Disney license in the US outside of the original Dell run.
With Mickey Mouse, Gladstone ignored the comic book stories that had gone before and instead, focused on the work of Floyd Gottfredson the artist who pencilled the newspaper strip from 1930 to 1975, producing both the dailies and many Sundays.
All issues, except 240, 245 and 256, feature Gottfredson art and, in most all cases, are the daily newspaper strip reformatted for the comic page and presented in color for the first time.1
