A selection of fanzines
Bill Spicer's Graphic Story Magazine was one of the most literate of the comic fanzines. Omniverse, edited by Richard Howell(?) featured Mark Gruenwald before he went to Marvel. Maxtor was a Flash Gordonish strip by John Adkins Richardson.
The Great Comic Book Heroes by Jules Feiffer
One of the first overviews of comics by someone who was there. This first edition included reprints of all the comics discussed, a rarity at the time, and something not included in the later printing.
The Diamond Smugglers by Ian Fleming
A rare non-Bond book by Ian Fleming. English printing.
Miss Fury by Tarpe Mills
Tarpe Mills strip reprinted by Archival Press. Mills was one of the few women to work in the early days of comics.
Sheena 5 from 1949
The Queen of the Jungle. Such a babe. This is issue #5 from 1949. Cover possibly by Jack Kamen. Fiction House.
Sabre by Gulacy and McGregor
Possibly the first original graphic novel published by Eclipse. Beautiful to look at and deadly dull to read. By McGregor and Gulacy.
Perry Rhodan covers
It may have been popular in Europe in the 60s, but it don't read well today. Gray Morrow covers on a couple of them.
Thrilling Adventures 1
The first attempt by Atlas/Seaboard to compete in the black and white magazine market. Cover is by Ernie Colon. Contains Tiger-Man, Kromag (a Tor clone), Lawrence of Arabia and a noteable non-series story written and drawn by Russ Heath.
A selection of covers from Tales of Suspense
The later issues of one of the great Marvel "double" books. Kirby, Kane, Colan, and others. Cap took over the numbering when the title was split.
