A really great cover for a nice mix of apolyptic visions, some of which are better than others. The stories in this collection were originally published between 1932 and 1954 and show Wollheim's editorial vision of mixing the old with the (at the time the anthology was printed) new: a formula he had used at Avon with the Avon Fantasy Reader and Science Fiction Reader. This publishing mix was what made Ace a leading publisher of science fiction.
