The staying power of some characters in the comic business is quite remarkable. On the left, courtesy of Marvel Mystery Comics #27 (1942), we see a character referred to only as "my woman." On the right, we see her in her more familiar guise of Mrs. (May) Parker, or the character we have come to know as Aunt May, courtesy of Spiderman Annual #1 (1964). Twenty-two years obviously made some changes in both her accent and appearance. It is also not clear whether the man in the example on the left is Ben Parker, or whether there was a previous marriage in May's past.
Aunt May is she is still working for Marvel to this day, having survived her death of a couple of years ago.
